Meditation Ocean works toward human and more-than-human thriving through oceanic meditations and responsive terrestrial actions. An accessible "indoor ocean," M.O. is equal parts video installation and platform for public programming. The project foregrounds the interdependence of individual and communal well-being, the deep connection between humans and kindred species, and the nonduality of the social and the environmental.

Conceived and directed by Hope Ginsburg, M.O. is realized by the Meditation Ocean Constellation, an expansive ecosystem of artists, curators, writers, musicians, meditators, divers, and scientists.

To learn about the first iteration of this ongoing work, please visit the M.O. Turtlegrass Meadow page here. The newest project, M.O. Aquarius Reef Base, is currently on view through February 22nd at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

Meditation Ocean was launched with the support of the Wexner Center for the Arts Film/Video Studio Program and Artist Residency Award in Film/Video.
